This is on FIRST FRIDAY! Yes, Old Town Portsmouth has a first friday.
Not only is this going to be a really SWEET artshow, but you can stuff your face and scarf down candy while you peruse all this SWEET artwork! Paintings will be for sale as well as a slew of awesome crafts from the artists! It’s going to be really wonderful outside and an iced coffee with art sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Yes! Bring kids and teens and your do…g and your smelly grandmother! Artists featured include Shannon Reed ( the amazing lady that tattoos you!) Chelsey Barnes (that girl that never leaves her house) Elizabeth Levesque ( that girl who paints things you want to have all over your house!) Mallory Jarrell (the girl whos paitings and collages are ALMOST as beautiful as her!) Alison Bachmann (the most talkative girl in the world!) Tim Skirven (THE FREAKIN’ SKIRV, The man with the hand….style!) Heather Bryant ( she is a walking cupcake herself!!!) and Glo Photo ( slaying you all with her camera weapon!!!)

Note: I won’t actually be at the opening because i’ll be doing my first poetry reading in Harrisonburg.

I don’t post music on here too often. But I am just really digging this right now while having the windows open and actually doing work that i’m going to get paid for and feeling confident that things are going to get better. I know this dude is a victim to hipster hype chill wave nonsense. But I love the idea of appropriation and making something that already exists in some realm into something else. SO – here is Washed Out’s new tour CD-R. Really kicking myself that I missed him recently as i’d have loved to see this with a full band backing it. So instead, i’ll let this be the soundtrack to a good day.

Also going to start work on a comic this week. I guess more of “boxed in visual poetry” or something along those lines. No story line as of yet.

Excited to announce that Mas Y Mas sent off their new record “You Name It” to United Pressing today. Got the chance to do the artwork for their side, as well as the layout of the whole thing. Should have these back pressed and printed by mid-April.
