Valentine’s Day (Part 1)

Take whatever you think of,
While I go gas up the truck.
Pack the old love letters up,
we will read them when we forget
why we left here.

Paul Somers

My friend Paul Somers sent over some new poetry that he read last night.

Currently obsessed with this one:

Four Bibles

I got four bibles
from a man on a corner
each green like the suit
my grandfather would
have worn to church, if I
had known him.

I buried one
with kitchen scraps

I burned two;
one while I was drunk
and the other to see
if I could do it
sober.

The fourth I made
my pocket journal.

Jud Cables

New logo I made for my good friend Jud Mason’s new instrument cable company!

From Jud:

Check this out. Some of you may already know this, but for those who do not… I MAKE CABLES!

You may be thinking so what? Why should I care about this? Allow me to explain why this is such a great deal even for YOU!

Every musician wants to sound good. Even if that means sounding “good” for your style of music. You cant disprove that. Sometimes you simply cannot afford to buy the right gear so that you can capture the sound you are looking for. Guitars, amps, pedals, microphones, etc….

But what about cables? It seems to be simple with cables. If you want the best quality you buy Monster/Planet Waves/Mogami etc. Or even more obvious, the most expensive. But do you really need to do this? NOOOOO!!!!

I have researched what makes a cable a “good cable” and what makes a connector a “good connector” and more importantly how I can make them myself.

I ordered the best raw materials I could find this summer in hopes of making and selling the cables on tour. Due to time restraints and overall exhaustion this plan foiled and I have a bunch of materials left over.

I just want to help out my friends and get my product out there.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL SAVE:
- A Monster 12 foot instrument cable cost $39.95 at Guitar Center
-My cable, just as clean and reliable, would cost $20.

-A Monster cable 30 foot instrument cable cost $59.95 at Guitar Center.
-My cable would cost $35.

- A Planet Waves 10 foot instrument cable cost $44.95 at Guitar Center
- My cable would cost $18.

So check him out!
